Job description

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards. Human Capital Management [HCM] Analyst’s primary responsibility is to manage employee lifecycle transactions within the Dayforce platform across Canada within a multi-union, large company. Work closely with HR Operations to approve and audit transactions ensuring alignment to data standards. Oversight of Dayforce email account by reviewing and responding to inquiries from employees, HR Ops and leaders. This role also manages other Total Rewards programs including, people change communications and org chart maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates new hire profile in Dayforce within service level standards for all hourly and salaried hires. Ensures employee profile is completed with all necessary data elements for benefits, payroll, Vacation, security, management assignments, etc. Initiates onboarding process for salaried hires.
  • Reviews and approves employee life cycle transactions initiated by HR Ops for all hourly and salaried employees, such as, employment and personal changes, terminations, leaves, etc.
  • Ensures proper approvals and documentation/forms are provided to satisfy compliance and audit requirements for all transactions. Provides coaching and direction to HR team on processes and standards.
  • Respond to Dayforce inquiries in a timely manner establishing acceptable service response standards. Works closely with HCM Manager to report and resolve data/system issues or data reporting requests.
  • Liaise with payroll to resolve any HR data related payroll processing issues
  • Responsible for the bi-weekly People Announcements (new hires, job changes, and departures) on Sofina’s employee intranet (SofinaConnect) . Also maintains and publishes company-wide organization charts monthly on the same platform.
  • Assists People Change Committee to summarize requests and distributes approved requests.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Dayforce or other HCM platform
  • Knowledge and experience supporting configuration of HCM modules an asset (Core HR, Benefits, Payroll)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Human Resources within a unionized environment an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with proven ability to communicate to a variety of audiences internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to handle and prioritize a variety of activities ensuring work is tracked, monitored, and followed up in a timely manner, demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment, demonstrating dependability and punctuality
