The Cause
Founded in 2004, Apathy is Boring is a national, youth-led non-partisan, charitable organization that supports and educates youth to be active and contributing citizens in Canada’s democracy.
The Opportunity
This winter we are resuming the RISE Program and will be hiring a Program Coordinator in each participating city. The Halifax RISE Program Coordinator will report to the RISE Programs Manager, East and oversee 13 youth volunteers to create, implement and evaluate a local community project. They will also oversee the local hub, lead & facilitate weekly meetings, coordinate volunteer schedules, support youth in co-creating, delivering and evaluating their community project and build relationships with local community organizations.
This role will require someone who is an excellent facilitator, can multi-task in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, is connected to the community and has a background in building partnerships. The person for this position has to be available to work some evenings and weekends. The coordinator will travel inside Canada 2-4 times per year with all expenses covered.
