Hairstylist

Hairstylist Position at Rawhides Bistro & Saloon Inc.

RAWHIDES BISTRO & SALOON INC. is now hiring for a Permanent Full-Time Hairstylist position.

Duties Include:

1. Suggest hairstyles compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences.
2. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
3. Apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to color, frost, or streak hair.
4. Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair.
5. Apply hair extensions.
6. May shampoo and rinse hair.
7. May perform receptionist duties and order supplies.
8. May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices, and helpers.

Wages and Benefits: Wages are $32.40 per hour for 40 hours per week. A $700 bonus allowance per year for health care spending is also provided.

Work Experience: Several years of experience may replace formal education and training.

Employment Requirements:

1. May require applicants to provide a hairstyling demonstration before being hired.
2. Red Seal endorsement is available to qualified barbers and hairstylists upon successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination.
3. Completion of a one- or two-year hairstyling apprenticeship program or a college program in hairstyling combined with on-the-job training is usually required.
4. Strong command of the English language, both written and oral communication, is required.

Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
