We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Manager who can take ownership of our product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy to drive growth in our lending portfolios. You thrive on connecting with cross-functional teams to develop innovative marketing initiatives that increase acquisition of new members and promote lifecycle engagement to deepen relationships. Succeeding in this role will mean understanding our business, our members, and levers for growth while dynamically evolving our marketing strategy and tactics.
You will be responsible for leading a team of 2 Marketing Specialists, who will support you in setting the strategies, executing the plans, and measuring performance for our Lending & Vancity Community Investment Bank portfolios. You will report into the Senior Marketing Manager.
This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
A typical day would involve:
- Partnering with our product teams and cross-functional stakeholders to develop marketing strategies that successfully drive growth and continued engagement with existing members.
- Using a data-driven approach to plan, execute, and optimize campaigns within a variety of marketing channels (lifecycle journeys, organic social media, paid media, events, and face-to-face).
- Taking ownership of product positioning, messaging, and the go-to-market strategy for key Lending product lines and Vancity Community Investment Bank (VCIB) to achieve business objectives.
- Leveraging your deep analytical skill set to ensure thorough measurement of marketing activity against short-term and long-term KPIs, while connecting results to opportunities for improvement.
- Enabling branches, member support, and other internal teams to tell a compelling story about our product benefits.
- Managing multiple high-priority projects in a deadline and data-driven environment.
- Leading and mentoring a team of marketing specialists, guiding them to deliver high quality marketing campaigns.
You have:
- A university degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of professional experience in Marketing (preferably in the financial services sector).
- Proven experience leading engaged marketing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Marketing strategy, delivery, and all elements of the marketing mix (lifecycle journeys, organic social media, paid media, events, and face-to-face).
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of strategic business drivers and how these translate into marketing strategy.
- Proven ability to partner with data-driven stakeholders such as cross-functional teams and Product leads.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to use influencing skills to drive team alignment.
- Strong analytical skills to measure performance, derive insights, and aid in decision making.
- Superior story-telling and presentation skills.
- Ability to bring new innovative marketing strategies to life and constantly evolve best practice with a test & learn approach.
You are:
- A leader – you understand how to motivate and support others in advancing the vision and mission of an organization. You craft plans, influence others in making progress on strategic goals, and cultivate an environment in which all are invited to contribute to success.
- An expert business operational navigator – you understand how to drive balanced growth against organizational priorities and can pivot based on market changes. You know where to dig deep, where to delegate and where to prioritize to achieve results.
- A dynamic communicator – with great interpersonal and communication skills, you create a clear understanding of expectations; you address escalated challenges and issues in reporting areas; and you represent the functional area across the organization.
- A self-starter – you have a bias towards action and are motivated by getting things done. You have a habit of uncovering opportunities through curiosity and testing new ideas to drive results.
- A strategic marketer – you plan and coordinate to establish marketing strategies, and tactical plans; and you lead development of integrated solutions, services and programs. You connect the dots across the business to provide more effective and efficient solutions.
- Curious & innovative – you’re on top of the financial services industry, political and economic trends and are constantly looking for new marketing opportunities to test. You identify risks and opportunities that may impact the business unit and or designated area.
- Analytical – you are data-driven in your approach and can skillfully interpret customer, campaign and market data, recommending changes and optimizations.
