Job Overview
As a key team member in our Canada IT crew, the Infrastructure Engineer will build and maintain the digital backbone that keeps our game studios and teams connected. You'll be the mastermind behind our network infrastructure, making sure our developers and staff have the fast, reliable connections they need to create amazing games without technical hiccups slowing them down.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain robust network architectures that support game development, testing, and operational efficiencies
- Configure and optimize network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure minimal latency
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect game assets and data from threats and vulnerabilities
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex network issues to minimize downtime and disruption to our teams
- Maintain existing on-premise and cloud servers
- Collaborate with game development teams to address network-related challenges
- Establish and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Perform capacity planning and bandwidth management to ensure optimal network performance for development and office environments
- Implement disaster recovery protocols and redundancy systems to ensure business continuity
- Research and evaluate emerging network technologies
- Provide technical guidance on network-related tasks or projects
- Coordinate with third-party service providers where applicable
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience in network engineering, preferably in gaming or high-traffic digital environments
- Proficient in configuring and managing enterprise-grade network equipment (Cisco, Fortigate, etc.)
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S)
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices
- Knowledge of load balancing technologies and content delivery networks (CDNs)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex network issues
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in French, English and Chinese (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP, NSE or equivalent network certifications
- Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools
- Knowledge of QoS implementation for real-time applications
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like PRTG, SolarWinds, or Grafana
- Understanding of low-latency network optimization techniques
