Group Controller & Finance Business Partner

Another Mason Group Exclusive! Our very successful Langley based client is looking for a Group Controller with proven success in a manufacturing environment to join their team. This newly created role offers a marvelous opportunity to put your strong technical accounting knowledge, operationally focused FP&A modelling talents, computer system intelligence and proven leadership to work.

Reporting to the President at the Langley head office of this multi-location BC company, you will be leading a good size accounting team in 2 locations. Mentoring & growing accounting staff including CPA students is a passion for you.

Ultimately responsible for the financial reporting for multiple companies, you have the desire to use technology to streamline processes and enhance available reporting features. The end game is to automate wherever possible, improving both accuracy and timeliness, enabling you to spend more time on enhancing the profitability of the businesses.

Having a seat at the Leadership table, you are passionate about working with your Operational Peers and helping the business grow from a finance lens. Aside from capitalizing on current and future ERP system capabilities, you have advanced Excel & financial modelling skills and are curious about new technologies that could be a benefit.

An ERP upgrade or change will be required in the next few years giving you the time to assess the status quo, compare available options, and make your recommendation. Another fun project for you to own if you have a strong appetite for IT!

Requirements

• Canadian CPA designation in good standing
• 10+ years of progressive and relevant experience including responsibility for full cycle accounting in a Controller or similar role
• 5+ years of mentoring & growing an accounting team
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is ‘almost’ non-negotiable unless you can convince us otherwise
• Strong understanding of ASPE
• Proficient with Excel, ERP systems and the use of technology in general
• Demonstrable problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Proven ability to adapt communications for your audience
