Group Benefits Underwriting Consultant – Reporting & Analytics

We’re looking for a positive and detail-driven individual with a proven ability to provide expert support in group benefits plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Expertise in Group Benefits: Possess a deep understanding of group benefits products and their complexities.
• Renewal Management: Oversee all aspects of group benefits renewals, including analyzing insurer proposals and negotiating optimal outcomes for clients.
• Marketing Oversight: Manage marketing processes by preparing specifications, addressing market queries, and summarizing and comparing quotes.
• Financial Reconciliation: Validate the accuracy of refund-accounted or ASO financial reconciliations provided by insurers where applicable.
• Comprehensive Reporting: Draft detailed reports for renewals, marketing, or financial reconciliations, providing tailored analysis, insights, and recommendations.
• Budgeting Support: Calculate projected renewal ratings and offer detailed justifications to assist clients in budgeting effectively.
• Client-Centric Analysis: Review client-specific experience data and prepare actionable insights as guided by the Consultant.
• Plan Design Financials: Develop pricing for plan design changes and illustrate their financial implications to clients.
• Benchmarking & Risk Assessment: Conduct benchmarking to recommend plan improvements and identify potential risks for clients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Experience: Minimum 7 years in a Group Benefits consulting environment or as a Group Benefits Underwriter in a technical role.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of underwriting and funding arrangements.
• Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
• Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Independence: Capable of working autonomously while meeting deadlines.
• Education: University or College degree.
• Professional Development: Interest in pursuing the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
