POSITION OVERVIEW

The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing and executing design solutions for all IGNITE marketing and communication materials while maintaining IGNITE’s brand identity and accessibility standards. Designers will work on a range of projects, including print, digital, web, social media, and event materials. Each designer will be assigned a portfolio of projects, allowing them to take ownership of specific campaigns and initiatives. This role requires a strong foundation in graphic design principles, with additional opportunities to collaborate with the video team on motion graphics and digital screen assets. Designers will also contribute to experiential marketing initiatives, ensuring all visual materials engage and resonate with IGNITE’s student audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Conceptualize and produce a wide variety of print, digital, and experiential marketing materials, including brochures, posters, banners, social media assets, branded merchandise, and direct marketing pieces.
  2. Ensure digital and web designs comply with AODA standards and maintain accessibility best practices.
  3. Develop and refine campaign/project logos, web banners, and social media visuals.
  4. Collaborate with the video team to ensure brand consistency across video thumbnails, motion graphics, and digital screen assets.
  5. Maintain file organization and asset management within IGNITE’s storage systems.
  6. Research, develop, and create custom designs for experiential marketing promotions.
  7. Ensure adherence to IGNITE’s Brand Guidelines and Style Guide.

  6. A proven track record of working in a high-volume creative environment.
  7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must be a current Humber College or University of Guelph-Humber fee-paying student at the time of application.
  2. Minimum 1 year of design experience; portfolio required at application.
  3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); experience in motion graphics (After Effects) is an asset.
  4. Experience with web and digital accessibility standards (AODA compliance, Figma) is an asset.
  5. Ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to creative storytelling.
  6. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
