Role Description
Raising The Village is seeking a highly organized and analytical Grants and Reporting Manager to lead the management of grant lifecycles and reporting processes, grant writing and proposal development, and internal alignment on grant-funded initiatives. Working closely with the Programs, Finance, and Analytics teams, the manager will oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and high-quality grant proposals and reports that showcase program outcomes and compliance with grant requirements.
The Grants and Reporting Manager will be responsible for managing and improving internal processes related to grants and reporting, ensuring that team members have the resources, tools, and support needed to meet deadlines and deliver results. This includes developing reporting templates, standardizing workflows, and building the capacity of team members through training and mentorship. The ideal candidate will play a key role in integrating data and insights across departments to inform decision-making and program improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Management and Compliance:
Oversee the lifecycle of all grant-funded initiatives, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and organizational policies. Develop and maintain internal systems for tracking grant deliverables, deadlines, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with Finance and Programs teams to develop budgets and monitor expenditures. - Grant Writing and Proposal Development:
Lead the development of compelling and well-structured grant proposals to secure funding for organizational initiatives, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and strategic priorities. Collaborate with the programs, finance, and analytics teams to gather necessary information and create narratives that effectively communicate impact and program goals. - Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and review accurate, high-quality reports on grant activities, progress, and outcomes for internal stakeholders and external requirements. Collaborate with the Programs, Finance, and Analytics teams to collect and analyze data to inform grant reporting and program evaluation. Ensure consistency and accuracy in data reporting by developing standardized templates and processes. - Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Act as a central point of coordination between Programs, Finance, and M&E teams to ensure alignment on grant deliverables and reporting requirements. Facilitate regular internal meetings to track progress on grants and address any challenges in meeting deadlines. - Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of grants and reporting workflows. Establish best practices for document management, data collection, and cross-departmental collaboration related to grants. - Data Integration and Analysis:
Work with M&E and program teams to integrate data insights into reporting and to inform decision-making and program improvement. Maintain a central repository of grant-related documents, reports, and data for easy access and reference. - Team Management and Development:
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of grants and reporting staff, fostering their professional growth and development. Provide training and capacity-building opportunities to team members to strengthen their skills in grant writing, management, reporting, and data analysis. Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability within the team. - Organizational Support:
Support leadership with the preparation of grant-related presentations, summaries, and updates as needed. Contribute to strategic planning discussions by providing insights from grant performance and reporting.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Degree in International Development, Communications, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in international development, with a proven track record in a similar role and expertise in overseeing grant writing and reporting in a nonprofit organization.
- Exceptional writing skills, specifically with a very strong background in grant writing and reporting.
- Proven ability to build and manage budgets, including those for restricted grants.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and planning abilities with demonstrated ability to lead innovation within grant writing and reporting.
- Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff towards common goals.
- Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving targets and driving positive outcomes.
- Willingness to travel internationally and locally to countries of operation as needed.
