The Grant Writer is responsible for identifying and applying for relevant grants to support the organization's initiatives. This role involves collaborating with internal departments to gather necessary information, tracking applications, and ensuring timely submission and reporting. The Grant Writer will manage the grant process using organizational software and maintain compliance with all funding requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Write compelling and well-structured grant proposals, applications, and supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to collect necessary financial, programmatic, and operational information for applications.
  • Track grant application status, deadlines, and reporting requirements using organizational software.
  • Ensure timely submission of applications and post-award reports.
  • Maintain a grant calendar to manage deadlines for applications and reporting.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all grant requirements and funding stipulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with funders, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Conduct follow-ups with grant agencies to track application progress and gather feedback.
  • Prepare impact reports and success stories to demonstrate the effectiveness of funded projects.
  • Stay up to date with grant trends, policies, and best practices in nonprofit and community funding.
  • Assist with budget development and financial reporting for grant applications in collaboration with finance staff.

Here is what you bring:

  • 2–5 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
  • Post Secondary education in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven success in securing grants from government agencies, foundations, or corporations.
  • Experience managing multiple grant applications and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write persuasive and compelling grant proposals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and activations.

Compensation: $41,600 to $49,920 per annum
