South Shore Waldorf School Seeking Grade One Class Teacher 2025/26
The South Shore Waldorf School is seeking a Grade 1 Teacher. The ideal candidate has familiarity with Waldorf education and experience and/or training in lower school settings, with a background in Waldorf Teacher Training. The teacher will be expected to follow their class into the next year where the class will be a split grade 1/2.
We are looking for someone who is hard-working, has a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and possesses storytelling and singing skills. The perfect candidate works with purpose and enthusiasm and is looking to grow with our school and community.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a 1 year contract with the possibility of renewal the following school year. All new employees are subject to a 3 month probationary period. Salary is $35,000-$40,000 depending on qualifications and years of experience and is in the range of other Waldorf Schools in provinces that receive no government support.
Faculty receive tuition remission for all their children. Faculty members also receive a small health allowance and mentoring.

OUR SCHOOL: The South Shore Waldorf School, founded by a small but dedicated group of parents in 1996, is set on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada, in Blockhouse, close to the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg and the charming small town of Mahone Bay, and is less than an hour south of the city of Halifax.
