Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years is required.

On Site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: At Heights, Outdoors

Work Setting: Commercial, Residential, Installation, willing to relocate, costs covered by employer

Responsibilities:

1. Determine type of glass, frames and material required
2. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
3. Measure, mark and cut glass
4. Position and secure panes in frame
5. Prepare tenders and quotations
6. Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products
7. Install door, window and other hardware
8. Repair glass doors and other glass structures
9. Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment
10. Transport cases of glass
11. Estimate costs and materials
12. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
13. Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes and other lifting equipment

Credentials:

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

Experience and specialization:

Frame fabrication and installation – Spandrel panel installations and Aluminum framing members

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

• Physically demanding
• Standing for extended periods
• Bending, crouching, kneeling
