Glass Production – Forklift / Front End Loader Operator

Our client in Waterdown is hiring for Counterbalance Forklift operators with front end loader/heavy equipment experience! This company is a historical site, being in business for over 100 years in beautiful Waterdown.

This is a very dusty environment and there is a garbage odour at times. Environment can be hot or cold depending on weather.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Valid forklift certification (Counterbalance ideal)
2. Construction/heavy equipment operation experience (Front End Loaders)
3. QA experience within manufacturing environments (packaging, reporting, quality control, shipping/receiving, etc)
4. Be bondable (able to pass a criminal record check)
5. Have own car to get to and from work
6. Be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive motions

Pay: $24/hr – if hired, you will get a raise to $25.50/hr!

Hours: 6am-2:30pm, 2pm-10:30pm or 10pm-6:30am Mon-Fri (may change depending on business needs so workers must be flexible)

Duties include:

1. Operating Glass Cleaning or Glass Operations equipment (forklift and front-end loader)
2. Cleaning of the plant as required
3. Daily maintenance of equipment
4. Reporting any inconsistencies and using standard repair procedures
5. Sweeping, shoveling (repetitive movements)
6. Other duties as assigned

This is a very dusty environment and has a garbage smell at times.
