  • Develop, configure, and manage dynamic and impactful GIS solutions leveraging the GIS platform, associated applications (e.g., Dashboards, Experience Builder, Hub Site, StoryMap, Field Maps, Survey123, Python, Arcade, etc…) and cross-platform integrations (e.g., Power BI).
  • Balance a high level of creativity with adherence to established Stantec GIS standards and best practices.
  • Ability and interest to actively engage in a team environment.
  • Always be persistent and diligent about quality, both in one’s own work and the work of others.
  • Actively engage with immediate GIS team and greater GIS community, both locally and beyond, staying aware of the state of practice, new tools and technology, and opportunities for growth.
  • Adapt to changes in project schedule, scope, and cost, and be willing to work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong understanding of foundational GIS principles and skills.
  • Solid foundation in coordinate system projections and transformations.
  • Proficient in both vector and raster data management and analysis techniques.
  • Strong cartographic skills for both desktop and web-based maps.
  • GIS-CAD data interoperability and integration skills.
  • Proficient with Esri ArcGIS Pro.
  • Intermediate in ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, including associated applications (e.g., Dashboards, Experience Builder, Hub Site, StoryMap).
  • Intermediate with mobile data collection, processing, and integration using Field Maps and/or Survey123.
  • Beginner to intermediate automation skills using Arcade, Python, Model Builder, ArcGIS API.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong written, oral, and virtual communication skills for all levels of technical understanding.
  • Enthusiastic, resolute, and self-disciplined to work effectively in an exciting, diverse, and challenging environment while building essential working relationships.
  • Self-motivated to continuously improve and learn new technical and consulting skillsets.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in GIS, geology, geomatics, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework.
  • Minimum of 4 years demonstrated professional work experience as a GIS Professional. An equivalent combination of recent education and job experience may be sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties.
  • Prior experience within a consulting environment will be considered valuable.
  • Specific experience providing GIS services within the Power & Dams, Renewables, Transmission & Distribution, Mining, and/or Oil and Gas industry sectors will be considered a strength but is not required.
