What you will do:
The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for the overall management and direction of the processes associated with the day-to-day functions of the sales floor. This person ensures compliance with company standards in all customer and donor areas of the store (inside and outside), remains aware of customer and donor needs, and ensures fast, accurate, and friendly service at cash registers, self-checkouts, on the retail floor, and at the point of donation. The Retail Sales Manager is guided by the Savers Vision and Core Values and reports to the Store Manager.
Store Performance:
- Ensures store performance meets financial targets and key metrics based on annual and quarterly operating plans.
- Monitors and sets the pace of work.
- Understands company objectives and local market potential, analyzing and acting on key metrics and information.
- Inspects sales floor for shop-ability and merchandising standards, ensuring a positive customer/donor experience.
- Leads the generation of new Super Savers Club memberships.
- Prioritizes and directs team member activity.
Leadership and Development:
- Leads, directs, and supervises the work of supervisors and retail sales floor team members.
- Plans staffing needs and coordinates recruitment, selection, and training.
- Regularly interacts with supervisors and team members to train, coach, and counsel them. Provides recognition and feedback.
- Identifies and develops high-potential team members for supervisory and management positions.
- Models and maintains a respectful, values-driven workplace adhering to Savers’ Policies and Procedures.
- In the absence of the Store Manager, oversees the entire store as acting Store Manager.
Retail and CDC Operations:
- Schedules supervisors and team members for cash register, self-checkout, sales floor to meet customer/donor demand.
- Continuously assesses the sales floor and donor areas, directing team member activity to ensure standards are met.
- Monitors sales, items sold, and operations labor hours regularly to ensure efficiency targets are met.
- Identifies sub-standard departments or categories and takes action for resolution.
- Accountable for determining appropriate space-to-sales for departments using the CatMax tool.
- Receives and responds to customer questions, requests, and complaints.
- Processes exchanges and special customer needs as needed.
- Delivers a positive customer/donor experience by setting an example and training team members on customer service expectations.

Minimum Required Education, Training, and Experience:
- High School diploma; post-secondary degree/diploma preferred.
- Experience in sales floor supervision, cashier supervision, customer service management, or retail management.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry products weighing less than 5 lbs. Will occasionally need to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent reaching in various levels/directions to inspect/handle merchandise.
- Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending, and twisting.
- Frequently required to read written & electronic documents and product labels.
- Continuously needs to hear and verbally communicate to interact with management, team members, and customers.

Travel: Will periodically need to drive to meetings or other stores for business purposes.
