About The Lunch Lady
The Lunch Lady is a celebrated Vietnamese restaurant dedicated to bringing the Saigon street food's warmth, vibrancy, and authentic flavours to Vancouver. Known for our dynamic dining experience, exceptional dishes, and loyal customer base, we seek an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our team. The General Manager will be a key force behind our continued success by upholding our reputation for exceptional service and quality.

Position Overview
The General Manager will oversee daily operations, lead and motivate staff, ensure outstanding customer service, and collaborate closely with ownership to drive growth. This role requires a dynamic leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on management.

Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and manage front-of-house staff to ensure consistent performance and continual professional development.
2. Operational Oversight: Manage daily service operations, including staffing, inventory control, quality assurance, and restaurant cleanliness & maintenance.
3. Scheduling: Coordinate staff schedules to balance operational needs and employee requests.
4. Customer Relations: Address customer feedback promptly and professionally to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
5. Financial Management: Achieve financial targets through effective cost control, budgeting, and efficiency strategies.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with ownership to identify growth opportunities and execute strategic initiatives.
7. Culture & Standards: Uphold The Lunch Lady’s values of inclusivity, warmth, and excellence in service and operations.

Qualifications

1. Proven experience in restaurant management, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
2. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven track record of team development.
3. Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for hospitality.
4. A high level of business acumen, the ability to think outside of the box, and a diligent work ethic.
5. Effective stress management; ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions.
6. Experience with inventory management, cost control, budgeting, and scheduling.
7. Tech-savvy.
8. Hands-on approach to management and a commitment to operational excellence.
9. Familiarity with Vietnamese cuisine is an asset but not required.
10. A willingness to learn is essential.
