Jet Pet Resort is a 5-star, multi-location pet boarding and daycare facility with two locations in Vancouver and one in North Vancouver. The facilities cater to dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. Each pet guest is treated as an individual, and the Jet Pet team knows how to entertain all personality types, from relaxed cats and shy canines to playful puppies and energetic dogs. Jet Pet Resorts is searching for a General Manager to oversee all three locations and make a valuable contribution to the team. The opportunity for ownership is available for the right person.
The Role:
This individual will report to the ownership and oversee the day-to-day operations, increase growth through sales strategies, and inspire the team to provide an exceptional customer experience. This role requires the proven ability to lead a team, build a sales culture, gain immediate trust and rapport with customers, and understand finance and budgets. This leader will have three direct reports, take initiative, and inspire others to do the same while maintaining the existing team-focused, family-like culture.
- Foster a sales culture that values transparency, accountability, excellence, and an exceptional customer experience.
- Lead three facility managers, ensuring sales targets are met, inspire team camaraderie by implementing fun and engaging sales campaigns.
- Evaluate ongoing employee performance and coordinate annual review and appraisal programs, giving recognition for work well done.
- Demonstrate adaptability and unwavering resilience in all situations, confidently make decisions, and be solution-focused.
- Turn a challenging opportunity into a sales opportunity, strive to build trust and grow a loyal customer base.
- Oversee marketing, ensure there is a growing online presence, and a continued plan to build a following.
- Create a budget and stay within it, oversee labor costs, report metrics weekly, and discuss and review KPIs with owners.
The Requirements:
- A proven track record of experience in a leadership role, demonstrated knowledge of sales, creating a customer experience, motivating a team; a passion for animals is an asset.
- Entrepreneurial, ambitious, and competitive; demonstrates energy and a sense of urgency in executing day-to-day responsibilities; a desire to own a portion of the business is a benefit.
- Demonstrated ability to build a sales culture; a proven track record in direct sales and customer satisfaction with up-selling responsibilities and an understanding of marketing.
- Ability to build immediate rapport with customers; desire to provide a customer experience that exceeds expectations and is unparalleled within the industry.
- A natural relationship builder who brings creative thinking and a “can do” attitude, strong follow-up skills, strives to exceed customer expectations.
- A dynamic individual who is eager to take on new challenges, has a strong work ethic, and is committed to achieving results; experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent is an asset.
- Flexibility to work during peak periods when Managers and Assistant Managers aren’t available and be on call when necessary.
- Proficient with Excel, has excellent computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
