General Labourer - Production Powder Coater/Blaster

AGI is a global company publicly traded in Canada, and we are expanding! We currently have over 100 employees operating out of 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Nobleford, Alberta (approx. 20 mins north of Lethbridge) and will be adding multiple positions as part of our expansion. We manufacture Westeel petroleum storage tanks and are Canada’s largest manufacturer of grain aeration and natural air grain drying equipment.

In this role you will follow proper process and procedures to specification outlined for each specific order required for powder coating/sand blasting products. There is no previous experience required, training will be provided.

You will work independently amongst a small team of powder coaters and blasters in order to complete projects in an efficient manner and will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

1. Apply powder coat/sand blasting according to outlined specifications
2. Perform quality checks before and after coating process
3. Log time in ERP system
4. Forklift operation
5. Knowledge of tank parts that are not to be blasted i.e. stainless steel, aluminum, and plastic accessories
6. Read and understand blueprints, specifications and drawings
7. Prepare product for powder coating/sand blasting application
8. Operate equipment within the powder/blast department including overhead cranes
9. Work on top of tanks utilizing proper fall arrest equipment
10. Capable of cleaning the interior of tanks to specifications
11. Completes coating of accessories
12. Complete all other tasks as assigned

1. Completion of grade 12 or GED
2. Must be able to read blueprints
3. Must be able to read a tape measure
4. Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
5. Production experience an asset
6. Exemplary attendance record
7. Proven ability to work safely
