Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our General Labourer, you will be responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. This role is based out of Edmonton, Alberta.

The Team

This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.

Work Environment

This is a full-time permanent position working an 8am to 5pm shift.

A Day in The Life

• Ensure all SECURE safety policies and procedures are followed
• Be cognizant of and adhere to any site-specific safety requirements
• Partake in all safety-related meetings including daily tail gates and last minute risk assessments
• Work well with other workers
• Must be familiar with operating and servicing small equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, cut-off saws, and stationary balers
• Responsible for sorting non-ferrous material, cutting material to size, and packaging
• Willing to be trained on other positions
• Must have an understanding of all power and small tools
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
• Clean, lubricate, and fuel all equipment and perform general site housekeeping
• Notify supervisor and/or repair shop of any required work to be done
• Other related duties as required

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• General labouring and/or farm experience an asset but not required
• Experience working with metals would be an asset but we are willing to train
• Basic comprehension and ability to follow SECURE’s Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to SECURE’s safety and hazard assessment process
• Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers, and other heavy materials
• Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions
• Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
• Certification in WHMIS and First Aid would be considered an asset
• Fit-for-Work each day
