Gabriel Dumont Institute Training & Employment Inc. (GDITE) was established in 2006 to serve the Métis training and employment needs in Saskatchewan. GDITE falls under the parent umbrella organization of the Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research.
GDITE established four Selection Committees to target training resources for eligible students and labour market priorities. The four Selection Committees are designated by region: Northern, East-Central, West-Central, and Southern. Committee membership represents the targeted demographic region to ensure GDI develops a strong community connection.
Selection Committee members should possess the following:
Priority will be given to those persons residing in Métis Western Region IA (North Battleford and Lloydminster area), Métis Western Region II (Prince Albert and Batoche area), or Métis Western Region IIA (Saskatoon, Rosetown, Kindersley, Outlook area).
Responsibilities: Committee members are responsible for allocating training funds based on established eligibility criteria and local labour market information. Training will be provided for Selection Committee members, and meetings will be held approximately 6 to 8 times per year. Honorarium and travel expenses will be provided as per GDI policies.
Term: This is a three-year term position from April 1st, 2025 until March 31st, 2028.
