Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s K3 facility is recruiting for a Gas Plant Operator to join the team. This position reports to the Foreman, Operations in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina’s Facilities Division.

The K3 Facility is a registered 1st Class Plant that accommodates various operational processes such as steam generation, separation of raw inlet gas, condensate stabilization, sour gas sweetening, and glycol dehydration systems.

As a Gas Plant Operator, you will be responsible for daily operations within the plant site working a 7 on 7 off, alternating days and nights schedule. This role is also a unionized position.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Start up, operate and shut down unit operations within the gas plant;
• Review, understand, and utilize Pembina’s safety and operational procedures;
• Ensure all safety documentation is completed for personnel working in the facilities;
• Document facility operations in logbook reporting and daily production reports;
• Lead and participate in commissioning and start-up activities;
• Work with management and vendors to develop safe and reliable plant operation procedures;
• Identify and troubleshoot process upsets;
• Call out maintenance for equipment repairs;
• Look for cost savings opportunities;
• Keep safety tickets up to date and coordinate required training;
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment;
• Work with a safety-conscious attitude;
• Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

• Preference for those who have completed 3rd Class Power Engineering;
• Experience with Power boilers, amine gas treating, natural gas compression, and shallow cut processing;
• Familiar with all aspects of operations and established procedures;
• Dedication to ongoing training and development;
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
• Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude;
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
• Must live within 100km of the plant location; transportation is provided;
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidates will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
