Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Resthaven Gas Plant, located about an hour and a half from Grande Cache, is recruiting for a Gas Plant Operator to join the team. This position reports to the Day Foreman, Operations in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina’s Facilities Division. The Gas Services Business Unit provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing, and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services for its customers.

The successful Gas Plant Operator will be hardworking, self-motivated, and eager to be part of a strong operations team. This is a camp position working a 7-day 12-hour rotation, days and nights, responsible for daily operations of the plant.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Start up, operate and shut down unit operations within the gas plant;
  • Review, understand and utilize Pembina’s safety and operational procedures;
  • Ensure all safety documentation is completed for personnel working in the facilities;
  • Document facility operations in logbook reporting and daily production reports;
  • Lead and participate in commissioning and start-up activities;
  • Participate in site lockouts and planned maintenance activities;
  • Lift and move barrels from a truck onto a barrel dock;
  • Create notifications through our SAP PMM system for maintenance;
  • Incident, Near Miss, Hazard ID reporting;
  • Work with management and engineering firms to develop procedures for safe plant operation;
  • Identify and troubleshoot process upsets;
  • Communicate priority levels for equipment repairs;
  • Look for cost savings opportunities;
  • Keep safety tickets up to date and coordinate required training;
  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice";
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in the oil & gas industry is an asset;
  • Preference for those who have completed 5th Class Power Engineering or Fired Process Heater competency;
  • 5+ years of gas processing experience is required;
  • Equipment experience including natural gas compression and refrigeration;
  • Familiar with all aspects of operations and established procedures;
  • Dedication to ongoing training and development;
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
  • Willingness to live in camp and work a 7-day 12hr rotation.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
