Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Wapiti facility is recruiting for a Gas Plant Operator to join the team. This position reports to the Day Foreman, Operations in the Gas Services Business Unit, part of Pembina’s Facilities Division.

The Gas Plant Operator will be responsible for daily operations of the Wapiti gas plant, which operates on a 28-day rotating schedule consisting of 12-hour day & night shifts.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  1. Start up, operate and shut down unit operations within the gas plant;
  2. Review and fully utilize Pembina’s safety and operational procedures;
  3. Ensure all safety documentation is completed for personnel working in the facilities;
  4. Document facilities operation in logbook reporting, daily production reports, and reliability reporting;
  5. Lead and participate in commissioning and startup activities;
  6. Work with management, engineering firms, and equipment vendors to develop procedures for safe plant operation;
  7. Identify and troubleshoot process upsets;
  8. Call out maintenance for equipment repairs;
  9. Look for cost savings opportunities;
  10. Incident reporting;
  11. Keep safety tickets up to date & coordinate required training;
  12. Support Pembina’s safety culture of 'Zero by Choice' and the 'Life Saving Rules';
  13. Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  1. Related experience in gas plant or field operations;
  2. Preference for those with 4th Class Power Engineering certification;
  3. Experience with gas compression, refrigeration, and fractionation;
  4. Strong mechanical background;
  5. Dedication to ongoing training and development;
  6. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
  7. Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude;
  8. Working knowledge of MS Office applications.

This position is considered 'Safety Sensitive' and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. The successful candidate must live within 100 km of the Wapiti Facility.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position and will undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks.
