Gas Plant Operator

The Gas Plant Operator maintains and coordinates daily operations, records, and maintenance for the gas plant.

Requirements

1. Safety first mindset and proactively identifying and resolving safety issues.
2. Minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in facility operation and maintenance.
3. Strong electrical instrumentation aptitude is an asset.
4. Collaborative and able to work well with others.
5. Experience with SCADA systems is an asset.
6. Self-starter who can work independently.
7. Experience with blowers, thermal oxidizers, adsorption vessels, gas fired engines or gas compression equipment is an asset.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel is an asset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate and control the biomethane plant.
2. Perform day-to-day plant operations including monitoring, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining systems, equipment, and buildings.
3. Collect, record, and analyze data regarding plant performance.
4. Perform various routine and non-routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
5. Equipment troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, electronic and plumbing) and restarting after unscheduled shutdowns/trips.
6. Operate forklift and man lift.
7. Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect potential failures and eliminate unplanned downtime.
8. Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
9. Close work orders and document work completed using the plant Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
10. Ordering of parts, supplies, and tools.
11. Snow removal and deicing of the facility.

Additional Role Details

1. On-call work on rotation, approximately 1 week per month.
2. Required to be within 30 min drive from site during on-call.
3. Rotating shift work will be required (bi-weekly rotation between day and evening shifts in the first few months then day shift only moving forward).
