The Role

Canco is currently seeking a Gas Attendant to join our team at our Canco location. We are looking for an individual with exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities!

Responsibilities

1. Greet customers, answer questions, aid with fueling, and other inquiries.
2. Cleaning fuel pumps, fuel islands, restrooms, convenience store and any other customer areas. May also pick up litter around the station.
3. Stay informed about and adhere to all safety regulations, environmental regulations, and industry standards related to fuel dispensing and gas station operations.
4. Respond to emergencies, such as fuel spills, fires, or medical incidents. Follow safety protocols when handling fuel, including the use of safety equipment such as gloves and safety glasses.
5. Keep records of fuel sales, transactions, and inventory levels, as required.
6. Update the price displays and ensure accurate pricing at the pumps.
7. Restock convenience store merchandise including but not limited to snacks and drinks, and other items sold by the site.
8. Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies are running low.
9. Process payments from customers, including cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments.
10. Operate fuel pumps, including how to reset pumps, handle different fuel types (e.g., gasoline, diesel, ethanol blends), and monitor fuel levels in underground storage tanks.

What You Bring

1. Previous experience in customer service role or retail.
2. Experience in petroleum or convenience stores is preferred.
3. Strong work ethic and attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 30 pounds).
6. Accurate cash handling and the ability to use point-of-sale (POS) systems.
