Funeral Director/Embalmer

Position Description: Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer (We are located 10 minutes South of Cincinnati, OH)

Purpose: The position of Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer exists in this organization to provide the highest quality, professional, and efficient funeral services to the client families served by the Linnemann Funeral Homes.

Reports to: Director of Funeral Service Operations.

Major Duties:

1. Direct funerals, perform embalming, make at-need and pre-need arrangements, prepare for visitations/funerals, work visitations/funerals, and escort funerals.
2. On-call rotation by phone only (one night a week and every other weekend); use trade for removals.
3. Willing to work on nights off and weekends when busy.
4. Be knowledgeable of all programs, services, and amenities offered by the funeral home.
5. Use appropriate communication skills with family members, visitors, and clergy.
6. Greet visitors and family; introduce them to the appropriate staff during visitations.
7. Remain visible and available at all times during services and visitations.
8. Determine the purpose of visitors' visits and respond accordingly by directing or escorting them to the appropriate room as time and circumstances allow.
9. Check with client family members during visitation to ensure satisfaction.
10. Maintain the register book, prayer cards, and memorial supplies.
11. Participate in the direction and/or delivery of ceremonies and services as needed.
12. Monitor parking lot activities during services; assist with funeral processions.
13. Maintain complete confidentiality regarding any information about the deceased or client family.
14. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
15. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety measures.
16. Present and conduct oneself in a professional and respectable manner.

Other Duties:

1. Perform routine ground/building maintenance and snow removal.
2. Assist in cleaning the funeral home, running errands, and washing cars.
3. Complete all training sessions required by the management of LFH.
4. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Funeral Service Operations or the Owners.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Funeral Directors/Embalmers License

Experience: >2 years

Physical: Lift and carry > 75 lbs

Compensation and Benefits: Starting at $65,000 but negotiable based on experience/qualifications; 401K, Health Benefits, Paid Vacation + PTO Days, Performance Bonus, Cell Phone Allowance, Professional Clothing Allowance, Signing Bonus.
