About This Role

As a Funeral Director Assistant at Park Funeral Home in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, you will play a meaningful role in supporting families with care and professionalism during their most difficult moments. In this position, you’ll work closely with our Funeral Directors, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of funeral services while also developing valuable administrative skills.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organizational and administrative skills who are looking to grow within the funeral profession. Key Qualifications And Demonstrated Abilities

  • Passion for customer care, demonstrated in previous professional experiences.
  • Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization.
  • Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
Responsibilities
  • Greeting and assisting families upon their arrival at the funeral home.
  • Assisting with removals, transfers of decedent to the funeral home or crematorium as required.
  • Assisting with the preparation of various rooms, during visitations, various rituals, funeral services, burials and any other related tasks.
  • Driving funeral vehicles when required by the funeral home.
  • Performing general building upkeep and ensuring the proper maintenance of funeral service vehicles including washing, interior care, cleaning, polishing, general vehicle maintenance including scheduling and service care plans.
  • Delegating customer inquiries.
  • Answering the telephone and greeting customers.
  • Performing general office administration functions including accounts payable, payroll duties, data entry and various other administration tasks.
  • Other duties or special projects as required.
