Job Overview

The Fundraising Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing core programs including direct mail, monthly giving, grateful patient giving, and memorial giving. This position is key to ensuring the long-term growth and sustainability of our annual giving efforts. Success in this role will drive broad donor engagement, maximize fundraising revenue, and foster lasting relationships with our supporters.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Mail Program Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute direct mail fundraising campaigns, including donor segmentation, creative development, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications to craft compelling, donor-centric messaging and materials.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, continually optimizing for improved response rates and return on investment.

Monthly Giving Program

  • Lead efforts to expand the Foundation’s monthly giving program, focusing on donor acquisition, retention, and upgrades.
  • Implement personalized stewardship activities to engage and recognize monthly donors, fostering long-term loyalty.

Grateful Patient Giving

  • Manage the grateful patient giving program by identifying and cultivating prospects from patients and families who have benefited from hospital care.
  • Develop relationships with hospital staff to enhance patient referrals for the giving program.

Memorial & Tribute Giving:

  • Oversee the memorial and tribute giving program, implementing strategies to encourage donations in honor of loved ones.
  • Coordinate sensitive and timely communications with families and ensure all gifts are appropriately acknowledged.

Physician Giving:

  • Develop and implement a targeted strategy to engage physicians in the Foundation’s philanthropic efforts.
  • Build strong relationships with medical staff to identify their giving interests and align them with fundraising opportunities.
  • Solicit gifts from physicians and provide ongoing stewardship to sustain their engagement.

Donor Stewardship & Retention:

  • Ensure timely, personalized acknowledgment of all gifts across annual giving programs.
  • Develop and implement donor retention strategies to nurture ongoing support and maintain long-term relationships with annual donors.

Data & Reporting:

  • Analyze donor trends, prepare detailed reports on the performance of annual giving campaigns, and present key insights to Foundation leadership.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of annual giving programs and recommend strategic adjustments to maximize impact.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:

  • Collaborate with Major Gift Officers and other development staff to identify annual donors with potential for increased giving.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to amplify the visibility and impact of annual giving efforts across digital, print, and social media channels.
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and initiatives to contribute to the Foundation’s broader development goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, with a specific focus on annual giving, direct mail, or similar programs.
  • Strong understanding of donor engagement strategies and annual giving best practices.
  • Proven experience managing direct mail campaigns, including donor segmentation, copywriting, and performance analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create persuasive and donor-focused messaging.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and donor database management (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Donor Perfect).
  • Familiarity with grateful patient giving programs and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and build strong relationships with donors and colleagues.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare or hospital fundraising.
  • Familiarity with digital fundraising platforms and online giving tools.
  • Knowledge of donor recognition, stewardship best practices, and creative engagement strategies.
