Fullstack developer (Java Springboot / Angular)

The Application & Data Engineering (ADE) department supports Non-Financial Risk Tech (NFRT) across the globe. NFRT super-department is part of the Corporate & Funding (CFT) division. The department is responsible for providing a reliable, robust, and fast Continuous Integration system by maintaining and evolving the CI/CD pipeline. NFRT provides operational controls and surveillance capabilities to enhance the firm’s resilience to threats and fraudulent behavior. Our support of critical business functions extends to archival & records management, business continuity planning, and due diligence investigations.

Role Profile:

UI Development (Angular):

1. You will be a technically proficient and enthusiastic developer, with a desire to work on back-end application development.
2. You will support and lead different phases of the product lifecycle including analysis, development, and testing.
3. You will develop new components in Java and maintain/enhance existing components in Java/Angular/Python.
4. Previous commercially proven experience in Java is required, with a strong desire to develop your skills more widely. Additionally, there is an opportunity to work with front end web apps.
5. You will be expected to promote best practices in terms of TDD, development tools, and technologies.
6. You will be a proactive member of an agile team, taking part in ceremonies and interacting with business owners and stakeholders as well as other agile teams across the fleet.
7. The role will involve constant interaction with front office business users, analyzing and gathering requirements.
8. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and design documents.
9. Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
10. Troubleshoot and debug issues, identifying root causes and implementing fixes.
11. Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
12. Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and knowledge sharing.

Skills Required (Essential):

UI Development (Angular):

1. At least 5+ years of hands-on Single Page App development.
2. Design and develop responsive, interactive, and user-friendly UI components using Angular, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
3. Implement UI/UX designs and wireframes into functional and visually appealing interfaces.
4. Optimize UI performance, ensuring fast page loads and smooth user interactions.
5. Collaborate with designers to ensure design consistency and implement design systems.
6. Develop and maintain reusable UI components and libraries.

Backend Development (Java):

1. At least 7+ years of hands-on Single Page App development.
2. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient backend services using Java, including RESTful APIs and microservices.
3. Implement database schema design, data modeling, and data migration strategies using relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
4. Develop and maintain backend services using Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot or Hibernate.
5. Ensure backend services are highly available, scalable, and fault tolerant.

Skills Nice to Have (Desired):

1. Experience with Python programming language and frameworks such as Django or Flask.
2. Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and Kubernetes, OpenShift is a plus.
3. Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
4. Observability stack (Prometheus, Loki, Jaeger, Grafana).
5. A strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and ability to deliver solutions under this methodology.
6. Experience in the development of service-oriented architecture applications, good understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns.
7. Must be comfortable working in a Unix environment and have experience with web servers such as Apache and Tomcat.
8. Knowledge of Sonar, Cypress, Fortify, Snyk, and other standard code coverage/testing tools.
9. Knowledge of automation testing using tools such as: PyTest, Junit, Postman Automation, PyUnit, Selenium, Mockito.
