Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) agreement.
Location - This role is in person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus Edmonton.

The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation (KSR) is consistently ranked in the top 20 faculties of its type worldwide (QS World University Rankings). It is home to approximately 1400 undergraduate students and 130 graduate students. In addition to its four undergraduate degree programs, KSR also offers Masters degrees, a suite of graduate certificates, and a world-class PhD program.
Position
The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation (KSR) at the University of Alberta is accepting applications for one full-time career status Academic Teaching Staff position (Rank, Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor) that will include 80% Teaching and Teaching Related Activities, 10% Service and 10% Research. A required area of focus for this position is coaching, with an expected breadth of teaching capacity and experience in other areas of kinesiology and/or tourism and recreation. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach and design an evidence-based curriculum that supports inclusive coaching to advance the practice and capacity of coaching professionals (coaching athletes of all abilities and genders in a range of sports environments). Preference will be given to candidates with a second area of teaching strength that complements our current composition of instructors and aligns with the teaching needs of our Kinesiology and/or Bachelor of Recreation, Sport and Tourism degrees (particular needs in: pedagogy/movement education, movement analysis (biomechanics, motor learning), adapted physical activity, recreation/leisure studies, sociology of sport/physical activity/recreation).
This position includes coordinating the Master of Coaching (MCoach) degree. MCoach coordination involves mentorship of MCoach students, working with KSR partners in Varsity Athletics, assisting students in finding coaching placements, supervising research projects/practicum exams in a cohort supervision model and organizing field placements to satisfy capstone project requirements. It will also involve relationship building and consultation with relevant organizations including the Coaching Association of Canada and the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta, as well as The Steadward Centre within KSR, to forge connections with their parasport programs.
This position requires in-person and online teaching and teaching-related activities, on the university campus, to facilitate students' learning and progress through their degree program as well as the operational needs of the Faculty.
