Full Time: Assistant Financial Controller

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team. There will be plenty of opportunity for growth within our company.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for various companies
2. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to maintain accurate financial records
3. Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data
4. Monitor, manage and review cash requirements of the company
5. Maintenance of the capital asset system and records
6. Support Controller with year-end closing activities and specialized projects as required
7. Provide support to other staff members as needed

Qualifications

1. Professional Accounting Designation preferred but not required (CPA – CA, CMA, CGA)
2. Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on general ledger reconciliation and report preparation
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis
4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
6. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
7. Proficient in MS Office, with high level of proficiency in Excel
8. Ability to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
9. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment, to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
10. Experience in the Agricultural industry is highly desirable
