The Opportunity: Vancouver, BC

Full Time: 40hr/week, no remote option

Contract length: 4 months

Expected start date: January 20, 2025

Salary: $23.50 - $26.23 per hour

At GeoComply, we empower the future of digital trust and the future of our people. As the Fraud Analyst Intern, you’ll team up with our best and brightest to learn, share ideas, execute, and create innovative solutions that directly impact the industries and communities served by our business.

What Will You Be Doing

  • Assist Strategic Initiatives: Liaising with large enterprise digital businesses to assist them in identifying and solving real-time fraud challenges.
  • Support senior team members with proof-of-concepts (POCs), key accounts, and long-term product strategies.
  • Manage Existing Accounts: Analyze user analytics reports and dashboards to determine patterns and threat vectors, which we then provide to customers to fight potential fraud.
  • Identifying problems relating to anti-fraud and AML/CFT risks for clients within their reports and programs and creating meaningful improvements.
  • Monitoring clients' transactions, identifying, recording, and reporting suspicious activity, investigating fraudulent transactions for external clients.
  • Support Client Onboarding: Assist with fraud and risk discovery calls and tool training for new markets and partners (Ability to speak Portuguese and Asian-based languages a plus!).
  • Contribute to Risk Prevention: Collaborate with GeoComply teams to identify emerging fraud patterns and recommend mitigation steps through behavioral pattern detection.

About You

  • Educated. You are working towards a business, criminal justice, psychology, history, or sociology degree. Discrete and ethical. You demonstrated the ability to maintain a high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality of sensitive, complex information.
  • Organized. Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support a rapidly growing technology company that operates in multiple time zones.
  • Critical thinker: Can look at data sets and ask the “why” or be curious to learn more about a pattern.
  • Exceptional communication skills. Whether written or verbal, people know what you mean, what you are asking for, and what is expected. Multi-lingual is a plus (Portuguese). Please note the writing + speaking proficiency you have.
  • Proficient. Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, and G-Suite Programs (Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides).

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting processes.
  • Interest in ERP systems (experience with NetSuite is a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
