Job Description: The Food Services Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of food service facilities, ensuring that high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service are maintained. This role involves supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

As a Food Service Manager, you will be responsible for:

Operational Management:

  1. Oversee daily operations of the food service facility, including meal preparation, serving, and clean-up.
  2. Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, maintaining compliance with local health regulations.
  3. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.

Staff Management:

  1. Recruit, train, and supervise food service staff, including cooks, servers, and support staff.
  2. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
  3. Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak times.

Budget and Financial Management:

  1. Develop and manage the food service budget, including food costs, labor costs, and operational expenses.
  2. Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
  3. Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring the availability of food and non-food items.

Menu Planning and Development:

  1. Collaborate with chefs and nutritionists to develop menus that meet dietary requirements and customer preferences.
  2. Conduct regular evaluations of menu items and make adjustments based on customer feedback and sales trends.

Compliance and Safety:

  1. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.

Qualifications:

  1. An active membership with the CSNM and designation of Certified Nutrition Manager (CNM).
  2. Current qualification as a chef and in possession of a Food Service Supervisors certificate.
  3. Minimum of one (1) year experience in front of house and customer service.
  4. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  7. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  8. Proficient in budgeting and financial management.
  9. Customer-focused approach with problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions: May require evening, weekend, and holiday work, depending on the facility's hours of operation. Work is typically performed in a kitchen or food service environment, with some office-related tasks.
