Job Description

The Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day hands-on operation for the entire food and beverage operation, including quality control, staffing, event preparation, kitchen operations, and dining room operations at the facility. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager of Support Services, the supervisor will work towards continuously improving the environment and quality of services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily audits.
  • Round on Unit leads and residents a minimum of once daily.
  • Perform project work.
  • Support and supervise cook staff.
  • Supervise dietary aid and dining room staff.
  • Generate weekly orders for food and supplies.
  • Ensure all elements of meals are produced and delivered appropriately.
  • Provide supervision of meal delivery at the active point of service.
  • Cover shifts in the absence of dietary staff.
  • Assist with preparation of schedules for staff and modify schedules as required to ensure a full staff complement during regular shifts.
  • Assist with the implementation of ARAMARK programs and controls.
  • Perform food and sanitization log audits.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach regarding client concerns and expectations.
  • Coordinate catering, special project work, and other activities that affect the daily operation of the Food Services Department.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper operating condition and arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of front-line job routines and duties.
  • Cover sick and vacation time as needed.
  • Responsible for rotation of audit logs and daily menu postings.
  • Spend at least 60% of the time on the floor incorporating supervising, coaching, and training.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in leading associates at a supervisory level in a midscale to upscale restaurant/banquet venue/hotel.
  • At least 3 years as a supervisor or lead preferred.
  • Experience as a server in a mid to upscale restaurant preferred.
  • Ability to support the development of team members.
  • Financial and Quality Service Responsibilities experience.
  • Guest service and associate service centric attitude.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
