Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 33 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 11 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.


The Role: Reporting to Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager, the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for the regional retail store and distribution center’s food safety and quality assurance program, ensuring that employee’s practices and products meet all relevant regulatory requirements and that they support the attainment of primary business objectives.


  • Major Responsibilities: Work closely with Merchandising Department and vendors to conduct product evaluation and improvement projects, ensure products are complied with regulatory requirement, product specification and customer’s satisfaction.
  • Partner with T&T Private Label Team for new T&T brand product development
  • Involves all aspects of regulatory compliance, registration and renewal compliance and label approval.
  • Maintain, update and improve T&T vendor FSQA control data system.
  • Liaison with CFIA, local PHI and other regulatory inspectors to ensure the product labels, claims, and product safety and quality program meet the regulation and corporate’s standard.
  • Provide update and trainings to merchandising team members, vendors, and other business partners on regulatory and industry technology changes, suggest action plan and monitoring the progress of the plan.
  • Monitor product safety and quality regularly. Investigate customer complaints with vendors and initiate corrective actions. Coordinate product withdrawals and recalls if necessary. Provide clear corrective action feedback to vendors and monitor improvements progress.
  • Conduct regular product safety and quality inspections at stores, and the vendor’s processing sites including oversea audit.
  • Any assignment from the supervisor.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: S. degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or other related Sciences. A certificate in Pharmaceutical, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Operations, etc. would be considered as an asset.
  • Sound knowledge and working experience of both Canadian and International regulatory or requirements for food and non-food product and labelling.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Regulatory Affairs field of natural product, cosmetic, personal care and home appliances industry.
  • HACCP / GFSI Certificate and NPN application working experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to make convincing & assertive recommendations. Business acumen and influencing and negotiating with government officials
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize key deliverables in a timely manner
  • Detail orientated and the ability to work under pressure and meet the deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese; knowledge in French, or other Asian language is a bonus.
  • Good data base management skill, computer skills, project scheduling, result summary and data analysis skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours and/or weekends and holidays if needed.
  • Willing to drive with valid driver license.
