Are you dedicated to providing exceptional customer service? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments? Lacombe Food Store presents the perfect opportunity for you! We're currently looking for a full-time Food Manager Trainee to join our dynamic team.

As the Manager Trainee, you will report to the Assistant Food Manager and support the day-to-day operations of the grocery department. You will follow a structured mentorship program with regular reviews and opportunities for advancement within the organization.

Position:

Food Manager Trainee

Full-time:

40 hours per week. Eligible for benefits after 3 months. If you are relocating from another province, please ensure you have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.

Availability:

Weekdays and weekends - mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Responsibilities

  1. Under the direction of the Assistant Food Manager, supervise and train staff in the general operation of the Grocery department.
  2. Assume total responsibility in the absence of the Assistant Food Manager.
  3. Assist the Assistant Food Manager with scheduling, recruitment, and performance reviews.
  4. Effectively plan, organize, and execute grocery department programs.
  5. Correct and timely reporting.
  6. Provide excellent customer service.
  7. General merchandising and ensuring an attractive grocery department.
  8. Keep a clean and sanitary work environment.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  1. Grade 12 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  2. Prior experience in the food industry is an asset.
  3. Coaching and training skills.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  5. Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  6. Strong organizational skills.
  7. Tech-savvy with a good understanding of retail technology.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Team player with the ability to work independently.
  10. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; some heavy lifting is required.
  11. Must have the commitment to complete the management trainee program.
