Responsibilities

Tasks:

1. Bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and set tables
2. Carry and replace linen
3. Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units
4. Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs
5. Load buspans and trays
6. Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware
7. Place dishes in storage area
8. Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
9. Keep records of the quantities of food used
10. Portion and wrap foods
11. Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items
12. Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
13. Stock refrigerators and salad bars
14. Take customers’ orders
15. Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs
16. Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
17. Remove kitchen garbage and trash
18. Sharpen kitchen knives
19. Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
20. Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
