A&W Revelstoke, in BC, is seeking seasonal Food Counter Attendants.

Positions: 5

Terms of Employment: 180 days (April 15, 2025 to October 12, 2025)

Wage: $17.50 per hour

Location: 1884 Trans Canada Hwy, Revelstoke, BC V0E 2S0

Education: Not required, secondary school is an asset

Work Experience: Experience is not required, training will be provided.

Job Duties: The Food Counter Attendant is responsible for taking customer orders, accepting various forms of payment, and serving the customers either at the food counter or table. The role also involves preparing, heating, and finishing cooked food items, as well as keeping all stations clean.

The Food Counter Attendant does the following:

  • Use a cash register to take customer orders, accept payment, and give change.
  • Answer customer questions about menu items and serve customers at the counter.
  • Prepare food such as sandwiches, hamburgers, deep fried sides, milkshakes, ice cream dishes, and beverages, including coffee-type drinks.
  • Clean, peel, slice, and trim food items using manual and electric appliances.
  • Stock refrigerators, cupboards, and salad bars.
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used or wasted.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas including work surfaces, cupboards, and storage areas, as well as dispose of kitchen garbage.
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
  • Help other workers who prepare or serve food and beverages.
  • Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist team members.
  • Bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving/staging areas.
  • Refill condiments and other supplies at tables and in serving areas.
  • Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and storage areas.
  • Sort and remove garbage and wash garbage cans.
  • Orderly unload trucks picking up or delivering food and supplies.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to deal well with a variety of people; team player.
  • Initiative, good judgment, decision-making, and ability to work well with authority.
  • Responsible, reliable, and honest.
  • Physical Demands: Standing and walking for extended periods, some heavy lifting.
  • Acceptable oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
