YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for organizing andexecuting the daily delivery objectives for the multiple sites by coordinating thescheduling and routing of Driver routes. The Supervisor works closely with theall the site Operations teams to ensure all loads are coordinated, companyresources are optimized, and customer needs are being fully met and/or exceeded.The Supervisor is responsible for working with Drivers to ensure 100%compliance with Transportation Safety Plan policies and procedures andproviding coaching and performance management to Drivers accordingly.

Description:

  • ManagesDrivers to ensure they are operating in the most safe and effective mannerand are compliant with transportation legislation and company policies andprocedures. Provides coaching and performance management to addressnon-compliance, and safety or service issues.
  • Leadsand coordinates all team members and resources involved in the dailypick-up and delivery of freight, including
  • Dispatchers, Drivers, ThirdParty Carriers.
  • Ensuresregular communication with Drivers to keep apprised of Driver locations.
  • Overseethe compliance of truck inspection, licensing, registration, andcoordinates trailer maintenance to ensure 100% on time maintenancecompliance.
  • Ensuresthe Collection, audit, filing of internal paperwork from Drivers (PODs,fuel slips, maintenance records).
  • Ensurespre- and post- trip ( DVIR’s ) filing of tractor and trailer inspectionpaperwork and maintenance files and invoices are filed on the shareddrive.
  • Providesa daily exceptions report to General Manager during morning huddle, sharing all ontime and late departures.
  • Ensuresdaily management by walking around in completed, complete review of fleetequipment in yard.
  • Managesfleet invoices including third party carriers, including auditing andcoding fuel bills, trailer rental bills, trailer wash bills, tractor leasebills, and fuel bills.
  • Updatesand maintains accuracy of all data on internal fleet shared drive, such ashours of service, Routes, Kms and equipment used .
  • Recommendscontinuous improvement efforts and identifies cost saving and growthinitiatives.
  • Performsother duties as assigned in accordance with the company vision, mission,strategy and culture.

YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:

  • 2-3years' experience working in a supervisory role in a transportation environment.
  • Experienceworking with company drivers, third-party carriers.
  • Post-secondaryeducation in Transportation, Operations, Logistics, or related field.
  • Excellentcustomer service abilities with a natural desire to provide exceptionalservice and build strong relationships with Drivers.
  • Provenanalytical and problem solving skills. Ability to quickly understand andidentify issues and propose solutions.
  • Provenability to effectively prioritize work flow to ensure deadlines are met ina fast-paced environment. Able to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Analytical;logical thinker with ability to think two steps ahead and successfullyanalyze different pieces of information and put them together like apuzzle.
  • Abilityto provide exceptional team leadership, including coaching, mentoring andengaging employees to bring out their very best work on the job.
  • Abilityto recognize unique strengths and talents in each team member, and coachand develop employees to grow and encourage strengths, and put developmentplans in place to address areas for improvement, if required for the job.
  • Excellentcommunication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Dedicatedto continuous improvement and ability to identify opportunities toincrease efficiency and enhance results.
  • Ability to manage and adapt tochange.
  • Approachable,positive demeanor with a hands-on and team-oriented work style.
  • Knowledgeof the logistics, supply chain and/or transportation industry preferred.
  • Commitmentto health and safety in the workplace.
  • Takesinitiative, is proactive in their work, and results-oriented.
  • Experienced working with an SAP (ERP) software
  • Experienced working with a TMS ( Blue Younger ) Transportation Planning System software and or similar software programs is an asset.
  • MicrosoftOffice skills with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Workingknowledge of labour management, transportation, financial and other keytechnologies.
