Job description

Our client is a locally owned and operated construction company known for its quality work, dependable team, and down-to-earth approach. We’re looking for an experienced Fleet & Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our crew. This role is ideal for someone who prefers a non-union, independent work environment with flexibility and autonomy.

What You'll Be Doing :

Fleet & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain and track a preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Service and inspect pickups, trailers, and light construction equipment.
  • Perform brake jobs, oil changes, greasing, and hydraulic hose replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair small engines: saws, generators, compactors, etc.
  • Handle basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Shop & Equipment Organization

  • Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized.
  • Manage tools and parts inventory.
  • Pick up parts/supplies from local vendors as needed.

Field Support

  • Deliver parts, fittings, and tools to crews on-site.
  • Provide minor on-site repairs and emergency fixes to reduce downtime.

Documentation & Safety

  • Log work in a digital maintenance system.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure equipment is job-site ready.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a heavy-duty mechanic or equipment technician.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and small engine systems.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Self-starter who’s comfortable working independently.
  • Someone who takes pride in keeping things running and crews working.

Nice to Have :

  • Red Seal Certification.
  • Previous work in construction, landscaping, or utilities.
  • Experience working outside union environments.
