Location: St. Jacobs (24 hours/week), Burford 8 hours/month
Status: Part-time (24 hours/week plus an additional 8 hours/month)
Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday - St. Jacobs (Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, 8 hours/day), Burford (1 Monday a month, 8 hours)
Hours: Regular Office Hours (i.e. 9:15am – 5:45pm Tuesday/Wednesday and 6:30am – 3:00pm Thursday)

TELUS Health is looking for a part-time Fitness & Wellness Consultant for St. Jacobs and Burford.

Here's the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

The part-time Fitness & Wellness Consultant will be responsible for teaching a variety of group exercise classes, creating, promoting and implementing health and wellness programs to client employees.

What you will do:

1. Instruct a variety of fitness classes and monitor participation
2. Build creative, informative and motivational communications, share with the employee population
3. Provide one-on-one consultations (i.e. individual health & fitness programs and support)
4. Instruct in-person and virtual stretch and mobility classes
5. Lead meditations
6. Plan, create and implement a variety of fitness and wellness activity challenges, events, interactive programs, webinars and workshops
7. Report of monthly and/or quarterly participation statistics
8. Facilitate the completion of screening forms and waivers for new members and annually
9. Collaborate and partner with internal stakeholders and the Fitness & Wellness Consultants at other sites to plan targeted fitness and wellness programming

Qualifications

What you bring:

1. Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Fitness or Health promotion
2. Current certifications in Personal Training, Group Fitness Instruction and CPR/First Aid/AED
3. Energetic, confident, reliable, positive, engaging with a passion for fitness and health
4. High degree of self-motivation and initiative and ability to work independently
5. Strong organization and time management skills required
6. Competent in administrative tasks and prioritizing
7. Excellent communication (both written and verbal), presentation, and customer service skills
8. Strong computer skills with ability to adapt to and learn various software applications
9. Experience in the corporate fitness & wellness field is a must
