If teaching group fitness classes is your passion, then look no further! Burnaby Recreation Centre’s are looking for enthusiastic individuals to lead group aquafit, Zumba, pilates, and yoga classes. Fitness Instructors lead exercise programs for adults and seniors, focusing on functional exercises, balance, agility, cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. The incumbent will also perform related work as required.
Applicants must hold a current BCRPA certificate or related equivalent with one or more fitness-related modules, and have experience planning and leading group fitness, aquafit, pilates, and/or yoga classes. Other related duties include communicating with program coordinators as well as program/equipment set up and tear down. Other requirements include First Aid certification and CPR Level C and strong customer service and communication skills. This work is suitable for individuals seeking occasional and/or part-time work; preference will be given to candidates with prior experience exceeding six months.

In addition to a valid group fitness certification from one of the above, we are seeking those with experience and specialty certifications in the following areas: Aquafit, BARRE, TRX, Older Adult, and Osteofit/Get Up and Go.
Fitness Instructor Level 1 – 3 Wage: $30.58 – 33.88 – 38.55 per hour +12% in lieu of benefits
Pilates Instructor Level 1 – 3 Wage: $36.76 – 47.28 – 60.24 per hour +12% in lieu of benefits
Yoga Instructor Level 1 - 3 Wage: $38.23 – 43.70 – 52.52 per hour +12% in lieu of benefits
Zumba Instructor Level 1 – 3 Wage: $42.03 – 47.28 – 52.52 per hour +12% in lieu of benefits
