Fit and Spec Technician

Our fashion industry client is looking for a talented Fit and Spec Technician to add to their growing team! This person will oversee our clients' fit and technical process and ensure consistent quality across all garment categories. They will conduct fit sessions and collaborate with the design and production teams to provide technical solutions to improve garment construction and consistency.

Responsibilities:

1. Fit Sessions & Garment Evaluation:
   ● Lead fit sessions on live models and mannequins to evaluate garment construction, fit, and functionality.
   ● Provide detailed fit comments and technical solutions to improve the product.
   ● Paper pattern making.


2. Technical Development:
   ● Ensure consistency in fit across all product categories, adhering to customers' guidelines and internal brand standards.
   ● Review and approve tech packs, measurement specs, and patterns.
   ● Troubleshoot fit and construction issues, recommending improvements to suppliers and internal teams.


3. Collaboration & Communication:
   ● Work closely with design, product development, and production teams to ensure product quality and integrity.
   ● Communicate fit adjustments and grading standards effectively to offshore factories and vendors.


4. Quality Assurance & Testing:
   ● Conduct quality control checks on pre-production and production samples.
   ● Ensure garments meet durability, wash, and performance standards before mass production.

Requirements:

Minimum 5+ years in an apparel fit technician or technical design role, preferably in activewear, sportswear, or mass-market retail. Working with Costco Canada/USA is preferred but not limited to.
Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern-making, grading, and technical specifications.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM software, and Excel.
Familiarity with Costco’s fit requirements and mass-market apparel production is a strong asset.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for garment defects, construction, and technical precision.
Ability to provide clear, concise fit comments and communicate effectively with overseas factories.
