Job Description:

We’re looking for a First Mile Transportation Planner to join our innovative team! In this role, you'll implement the first mile line haul operations across Canada, handling 15-25k loads to ensure optimal product flow. You'll be responsible for inter-DC transportation, delivery to Service Centers, and Cross Dock operations, all while maintaining cost efficiency within budget. What You’ll Do:

  1. Monitors and adjusts the line haul network on a nightly/daily basis to enhance on time performance.
  2. Establishes daily communication with transportation carriers, Service Center and DCs to plan appointments ensuring efficient flow.
  3. Schedules and manages the inbound and outbound operations determining appointment process in the 3PL sites to create efficiencies that can impact the bottom line.
  4. Tracks and analyzes line haul carrier performance across Canada to reduce flow delays.
  5. Day to day project lead of continuous improvement initiatives to improve First mile performance both internally and with carriers.
  6. Follows-up with carriers regarding late and exceptions with development of improvement plans to ensure optimal service for DC's, Service Centers, and Cross docks.

About You:

  1. Minimum two to three (2-3) years related work experience, preferable in logistics, supply chain, dispatching, transportation, engineering, business is an asset.
  2. Post secondary degree in related subject area preferred (e.g. Business, Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management). CITT designation or The Logistics Institute (P.Log.) is an asset.
  3. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Demonstrated problem solving skills including analysis of information (i.e. requirements, description of problems) with ability to provide solutions to effectively resolve issues.
  4. Ability to influence business partners, to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
  5. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  6. Experience with Network Optimization Software, Dispatch Management Software and Fleet Software.
  7. Proficient computer skills in use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint or equivalent Knowledge.

Salary Range: $60,082.50-$84,115.50 /year *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
