The Fire Operations Manager (FOM) is responsible for implementation of key aspects of the regional wildfire management program, including prevention, detection, pre-suppression, and suppression operations. The FOM is responsible for the supervision of Area Fire Managers and for the procurement of goods and services to support regional operations as well as the co-ordination of wildfire resources within the region. The FOM is also required to perform the duties of the Regional Duty Officer on a rotational basis during the wildfire season and to provide coverage for other positions as needed.
