What will you do?
In this role, you will work alongside a Senior Technician when performing the following:
- Provide assistance when completing annual, quarterly, and monthly inspections of Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting Systems, and Fire Hoses as per all applicable Local Fire Codes, ULC (Underwriters Laboratories of Canada) Standards, and NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) guidelines.
- Assist with on-site preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshooting.
- Complete and submit written service reports covering all aspects of each assignment and activity.
- Ensure that all site files are kept up to date for each contract.
- Represent the company at customer sites professionally at all times.
- Assist with testing and verifying system readings and ensuring optimal system operation.
- Make recommendations for improvement or system changes.
- Collaborate with other teams to maintain customer satisfaction and quality assurance procedures.
- Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act at all times: Ensure all damaged or faulty equipment is immediately returned to the warehouse with the appropriate documentation.
- Ensure that all test equipment and tools issued by the Company are maintained in good condition, kept secure, and tested.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

What will you need to succeed?
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate from a college, university, or technical school in Electrical, Electronic Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, or a relevant area of study.
- Working toward a CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) certification is an asset.
- Good understanding of Building and Fire codes is an asset.
- Customer-focused with good customer relationship building and management skills.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50lbs and climb ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation, and service manuals is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- IT literate and possess proficiency in Windows applications, including MS Office suite.
- Self-motivated and calm under pressure.
