Job Summary:
We are currently looking to fill a Full-Time Financial Services Specialist position at our Wallaceburg Branch. This position is responsible for seeking out new lending and deposit opportunities for Credit Union. The candidate must be comfortable cross-selling appropriate products and services to our members and to advocate to non-members through industry events and in the community. Sales or marketing experience would be an asset with this position.
A Mutual Funds license will be required for the senior level of this position. Some travel would be expected with this role and the willingness to participate in industry and community events. In addition, training will be provided to develop skills for both personal and commercial lending requests so that all members can be equally supported. Our goal is to provide “relationship banking” by offering and providing all Credit Union products and services to every member.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide efficient and courteous delivery of Credit Union products, services, and advice.
- Receive and process loan applications from Members in accordance with authority granted by the CEO, and under the supervision of the Branch Manager.
- Responsible for the administration and timely completion of clerical duties involved in the maintenance of the credit portfolio, deposit accounts and investments renewals.
- Assist in the development of sales and service goals and objectives for the branch in consultation with the Branch Manager.
- Provide input, support, and assist in the development and implementation of branch campaigns including, but not limited to, sales targets, marketing and branch budgets.
- Meet with members and non-members to solicit lending & investment products.
- Mutual Fund license, Credential Asset Management Third Party Certification would be an asset or willingness to work towards this designation.
- Work closely with the Branch Manager to ensure that all products and services are marketed and promoted in accordance with the overall business objectives including Member satisfaction and portfolio growth.
- Establish and maintain a current level of knowledge of competitor products and services; provide recommendations to the Branch Manager to ensure branches remain competitive in all areas; support implementation of new products and services for Southwest Regional Credit Union.
- Ensure that branches operate within established and accepted risk management guidelines, Anti-Money Laundering, Privacy and any other applicable legislation in coordination with Southwest Regional Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Monitor, report and collect delinquent loan accounts.
- Maintain a working level of knowledge of Southwest Regional Credit Union branch-related policies, procedures, established practices, and documentation in order to act as a resource to Members and to support the Branch Manager.
- Responds to member inquiries received by phone, in branch or referred by other staff.
- Participate in the promotion of the Credit Union through industry and community events and by initiating contact with Members on behalf of Southwest Regional.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Branch Manager.
- Follow safe work practices as prescribed by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience.
- Must have good knowledge of the computer system including all software applications required to perform duties related to this position, and the ability to learn.
- Excellent knowledge of general office skills.
- Must be accurate and detailed in the completion of tasks.
- Willing to take continuing education courses for self-improvement and advancement.
- Previous Credit Union experience in a similar role would be an asset.
- Knowledge of loan security procedures (i.e. Loan PPSA, Mortgage Registered Charges).
- Minimum of three (3) years branch operations experience in a financial institution.
- Sales or marketing experience would be an asset.
- Must be bondable.
