Job Summary: Coordinate Financial Empowerment classes and coaching for clients. Work with clients, covering topics such as budgeting, building credit, understanding loans, etc. Help clients improve their financial wellbeing and better understand how to manage their finances.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate Money Matters course and other financial empowerment workshops. Teach skills related to banking, budgeting, credit, loans, and identity theft. Provide financial coaching to Money Matters students either directly or via program volunteers.
  • Provide individualized financial empowerment coaching sessions. Determine if the client needs one-time or ongoing financial coaching services. Ongoing services should have a target end date, even if that date ends up getting pushed back depending on client needs and circumstances.
  • Implement the delivery and data tracking activities related to financial empowerment. Collaborate with relevant agency staff and community partners to identify and recruit participants.
  • Refer clients to resources and services as needed. These may include referrals to other Action Inc services as well as referrals to other community services, organizations, websites, and other relevant resources. Refer clients to other financial empowerment programs, such as Women's Money Matters and Banzai, when appropriate.
  • Develop class and workshop schedules, coordinating with partner agencies as needed. Assist the Career & Financial Empowerment Manager in the development of new program elements and components, as well as enhancements or improvements aimed at increasing impact and reach and improving efficiency and overall effectiveness. Develop workshops as needed.
  • Assist with training and coordination of financial empowerment volunteer coaches.
  • Execute other jointly agreed upon activities related to the delivery of the program and related Action Inc.
  • Maintain reporting, outcome tracking, case notes, and other relevant updates in Action's internal database. Maintain confidentiality regarding all client information.
  • Act in the best interest of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Attend and participate in departmental, organization-wide, and other meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with local resources and public benefits
  • Strong understanding of financial literacy

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or 3-5 years of equivalent experience required
  • Certified Financial Coach preferred or willingness to obtain certification
  • Experience collaborating with multiple partners
  • Non-Profit experience preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, move and carry 15 lbs.
