We are seeking a driven and successful Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at our Toronto office. This is a temporary assignment that is expected to last for 2 months with the possibility for extension.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and generate insights on financial performance as compared to budgeted and prior year activity, including comprehensive variance and trend analysis and explanations.
• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Develop a multichannel dashboard with operational and financial measurements (customer acquisition, conversion rates, profitability etc.)
• Enhance analytical tools (databases and reporting) to understand change in product mix/profitability.
• Assess effectiveness of promotional activities (including discounting and advertising) and competitiveness of pricing for the eCommerce platform.
• Drive change within the existing financial and transactional systems. Assist in implementing new systems.
• Provide analysis (ROI, Cash Flow) in support of operational investments (warehouse, IT infrastructure etc.)

Qualified Professionals Will Possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• At least 3 years of eCommerce or relevant business experience.
• Ability and desire to interface with all functional areas of the company.
• Strong, working knowledge of financial statements.
• Advanced Excel skills, demonstrated by proven ability to manipulate large amounts of data, create and manage pivot tables and complex formulas; database skills are a plus.
• A high level of motivation, drive, self-management, and effective interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic and can-do work style.
• Excellent communication skills and strong analytical skills.
