Reporting to the Assistant Mine Controller, you will be part of the Finance Department. You will be responsible for reporting, analyzing and managing the costs associated with our mining operations. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as finance business partner in cost analysis / forecasting for various departments.
Assist with cost reporting and preparation of monthly dashboards for senior management.
Assist in ad hoc analysis as required by the minesite.
Assist in the preparation of forecasts and budgets.
Support timely month-end close process such as preparing and posting journal entries, preparing and posting various allocations etc.
Monitor results of cost reduction programs (e.g. Six Sigma, Business optimisation initiatives).
Assist with documentation & enhancement of internal controls under the SOX framework.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Participate in special projects, when required, including implementing new ERP, accounting policies and other projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, etc).
Strong preference for a professional accounting designation such as CPA / international accounting designation but is not required.
Five or more years of relevant experience.
Previous experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Experience with SAP, JDE and Hyperion is considered a strong asset.
Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and growing company.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize assignments.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at one of our Northern Ontario offices. Occasional visits to site may also be required. Tele remote working is available.
For candidates outside Northern Ontario, position will require relocating to Northern Ontario.
